The Day After Christmas

Here it is, the day after Christmas.  Jesus’ birthday has come and gone, but may we not forget Him in our rush to play with our toys, wear our new clothes and just rest up from all the hustle and bustle of the holidays. We work so hard with preparations, cooking, decorating, buying gifts, cleaning the house, going to parties and other trivial things that we tend to forget the important reason for the season. In the peace that follows the rush, may we thank Him for friends, family, freedom to worship in the church of our choice, health, food to eat and a roof over our heads. Those of us who live in Mobile remember last year and the Christmas Day tornado. This makes us thankful for the cool weather with no storms. So many things for which to be thankful, we cannot name them all.

I want to sit by the fire and read a good book, try on my new top which is the only piece of apparel I received, take a bath using the bath caddy for reading without letting your book get wet, and do all the things I didn’t have time for before Christmas. This is a time to rest, reflect, rejoice before the tedious task of taking down all the Christmas decorations!

Wishing all of you a wonderful day after Christmas!
